Physiotherapy for different needs

Physiotherapy for autism

Physiotherapy for autism can support movement confidence, coordination, body awareness and participation in physical activities. Therapy may help with gross motor skills, balance, posture, strength and confidence in school, home or community environments.

Common goals may include improving playground participation, building confidence with stairs or uneven surfaces, developing coordination for sport or movement activities, and supporting physical routines that feel predictable and achievable.

Physiotherapy can support people with physical disabilities to improve mobility, strength, balance, posture and independence. Support may focus on walking, transfers, positioning, equipment use, physical capacity and safer participation in everyday environments.

Physiotherapy can help children and young people who are developing movement skills at a different pace. Therapy may support sitting, crawling, standing, walking, coordination, balance and confidence in physical activities.

Physiotherapy can support people with neurological conditions to maintain or improve movement, strength, balance, mobility and physical function. Therapy may include exercises, mobility strategies, equipment recommendations and practical support for daily routines.
