Our Flexible Working Arrangements – Paws Leave

Paws leave is a day dedicated to our pets. Whether you are bringing a pet home for the first time or looking after your pet when it is sick, this day of extra leave is given to focus on your furry friend.

Driven by People Passion, within the Arriba Group we strive to focus on our people, committing to a healthy work-life balance for all.

Paws Leave is just one example of how our employees are given the opportunity to focus on themselves and their life outside of work, to ensure that our staff are committing to this healthy balance. This day helps to minimize any stress related issues or concerns outside of work that could possibly become harmful towards the mental health of our staff.

Deborah Shand is one of our staff members who has utilised her Paws Leave.

Deborah posts, ‘I work for Rehab Management and we have Paws Leave. It’s a day of paid leave to pick up a furry (or feathered, or scaled) addition to your family, or have a day off to care for them. As a new Paw-rent, I really appreciate this. One of Rehab Management’s values is People, and this is an example of how we live and breathe it!’

Why Our Flexible Working Arrangements Include Furry Friends

Our fur babies are alike to human ones in that they’re needy and rely on us, especially when they’re a new addition to the household or they get sick.

We’ve introduced more flexible workings arrangements to reflect the lifestyles of our staff, with the addition of Paws Leave. Paws Leave means that our staff all across the organisation can enjoy the benefits of extra leave per year to fulfill their duties as pet parents.

With our passion for people at our core, we look to promote a healthier work-life balance and ensure we are inclusive of all lifestyles. This policy aims to make our staff feel supported and heard, acknowledging that children aren’t for everybody and for some, their furry kids are just as much an essential part of the family.

One of our staff members who has utilised his Paws Leave is Brennan.

“My workplace truly values the importance of family and that extends further than just the humans. On Monday, I was blessed to be able to take Paw-rental leave (yes that’s right, this is additional leave we have available to spend with our pets) to pick up the newest member of the family. I would like you all to meet the beautiful Rey! A huge thank you to the entire team for allowing me to spend the most important moments with our newest team member”.
