With the school holidays around the corner, we wanted to share some Spoonville inspiration. If you haven’t heard about the new craze – Spoonvilles are handmade ‘villages’ of spoons created on nature strips. They’ve been reviving the community spirit across Australia and have brought welcome enjoyment, especially for children, amid the pandemic.
All you need to start one is some publicly accessible land e.g. a nature strip, a sign reading Spoonville with some basic rules and a couple of your own Spoonville creations. Then it’s up to the rest of the neighbourhood to make their own cutlery villagers and join the crowd.
What you need:
- Hot Glue Gun
- Permanent marker
- Pipe cleaners
- Googly eyes
Your spoon people can be made with any assortment of craft materials you have around the house – get creative! Even better, scavenge through your garden and find twigs and leaves.
The LiveBig team would love to see your Spoonville creations – let us know on our social media channels how you went with the hashtag #LiveBigAU
